Wiki
But I HIGHLY recommend watching the movie first. (Be sure you’ve got your Ad Blocker on!)

Personality:

Fly is 13 and always has a snappy remark handy, making him extremely self sufficient. He is an optimistic boy that never wastes time worrying. Instead, he disregards the setbacks and finds a solution. He is full of good intentions but often manages to upset the surroundings with impulsive, spontaneous behavior. However, he usually manages to get out of trouble. With his optimistic and brave and attitude, he is a likable boy.

He is overflowing with affection for his family, especially his little sister Stella.

He is a typical adolescent who is comfortable in life. His remarkable practicality and autonomy bypasses obstacles and his good mood is unstoppable.

Being energetic, he never likes to be in one place for too long. Whether it’s being out on the beach or skating around his neighborhood, he loves being out and about.

He also enjoys things like double cheese burgers, Star Wars, video games, dinosaurs, planes/blimps, boats/ships, uni-cycling, biking, archery, UFOS, aliens, space, stargazing, rockets, tennis, baseball, soccer, hockey, kites, race cars, robots, comic books, cartoons, pop music, search-and-finds, (super) heroes, and being a little shit.

It hardly matters if you’re close to him or not, he tends to ruffle other kids’ feathers if he has the opportunity (though he never means harm by it). However, you have to be as old as him or older. If you are younger, he is surprisingly tolerant and supportive. If you’re an adult, he's usually respectful, but it really depends on how you treat him first.

Before his little misadventure, Fly really liked fishing. In fact, he was obsessed with it. The sea air in his face, the wait for the bite, the thrill of reeling in a big one… He still loves it, but at this moment, he feels uncomfortable doing it because he was a fish once and interacted with talking fish. Granted the talking fish drank the antidote to talk but it still feels weird… He’s going to miss it but for now he won't do it.

Fly is a really brave kid. That and just plain foolish. He thinks he’s untouchable because he’s lived a pretty good life with parents (who get along) and, before meeting the Professor, was never in a dangerous situation. This is also influenced by media that he’s watched or read where the heroes always win. He looks up to characters like that and thinks he can take on the world just as well as they can.

While he did get beat up by the soldier crab and lost all hope for a short time, because he knows that he, Stella, and Chuck turned back into humans, his faith is restored. Everything that they did, even when it seemed impossible, ended up working out.

If things do not go Fly’s way for a long period of time or people aren't listening to him, he will get frustrated and angry. He does shove and shout, making sure people know he’s unhappy.

He may never say anything about it, but Fly blames himself for the mess he put his family through. As he very well should, since it is his fault. Once he knows he’s the one to blame for something, he’ll never blame it on someone else. He’ll (usually silently) take the fall for his mistakes.

During this journey, he learned to appreciate his cousin Chuck, learning the importance of solidarity, experimenting, and (for once) to think before acting. Even if it is boring.

His role as "leader", his qualities (sweet, brave, intelligent, protective of Stella...), his sense of responsibility, and moral instinctive makes him a strong hero of this story. A hero in the marking!

Fears:

Losing Hope – As soon as Fly knows he is dying/he can’t help others, his spirit can be crushed. But this sort of depends on the situation.

Losing his family – The idea of losing Stella, Chuck, or any of his family members would devastate him. Losing friends falls into this category as well.

Killing people – Technically, Fly has killed someone. He is traumatized by the fact (he was also the only witness to Joe’s transformation/drowning/death and watched his body get swept into the depths of the Professor’s pump) and has vowed to never kill anyone again... But can that remain true in a place like this?

Dying – He’s gone through the experience before, he’d rather not have to again. Or actually die.

Large Crabs – As a person, he’s not really scared of them but would like keep his distance (unless they are somehow bigger than him). As a fish, he’d be terrified.

Torn Gills/Internal Injuries – Knowing what it’s like to have his gills bashed in as a fish, Fly has a fear of it happening again or worse. Seeing it happen to another fish would also be upsetting to him. Same goes for internal injuries, whether you’re a fish or not.

People and Fish Mutilation – This one speaks for itself.

Angry monsters – While often finding himself right in front of a shark’s big toothy mouth, Fly was not too afraid and always managed to get away. However, when the crab he encountered towered over him and looked him in the eyes, he became frozen with fear. If the face of a monster is scary enough and Fly doesn't know what to do, he’ll freeze up instead of fleeing.

Weaknesses:

Too brave – Fly is whole, sincere, spontaneous, and very sure of himself. Maybe a bit too much. His chronic impulsive-ness lacks reflection and he rushes right into the problems he faces. He might think about things a little longer now but he's still pretty headstrong.

A good Not-Listener – He tends to get absorbed into his own agendas and has a hard time listening to people, especially if they have no backbone or are telling him that things are hopeless. He also doesn't listen to adults at all times.

Impatience – On the topic of him not listening, Fly doesn't like it when people don’t listen to him and can get snappy.

I know what I’m doing – Except not really half the time. And yet somehow 90% of his ideas work out. How? We don’t know. But it’s under weakness for when it doesn't work out.

Forgetful – Even though he’s smart, Fly sometimes forgets some really important things. But all he needs is a little reminder to remember them.

Petrified – It really depends on the monster or person, but if you legitimately scare him, he has a chance of freezing up (as stated under ‘Fears’).

False Security – When ahead, he tends to forget that he’s not invulnerable.

Mischief-Maker – Whether he means to or not, he can get in trouble by being mischievous.

Saltwater Fish – For the chance that Fly is transformed into a fish again, he NEEDS saltwater. Freshwater and being in the open air for too long will kill him.

Mundane Strengths/Abilities:

A Sweetheart - He may mess with others from time to time, but more often than not (if he's familiar with you and you're nice), he can be the biggest sweetie you've ever met. It might be hard within the Houses for him to show this side of himself but since he doesn't like being angry or upset, people will get to see that side of him eventually.

On the Fly – When in trouble, he’s good at thinking on his feet to come up with a solution, even if it’s total bullshit.

Convincing actor – As long as he remains confident, it’s hard to tell if this kid is acting fishy. How could you not trust that confident little face of his?

Smarter than the average kid – Fly a very intelligent kid. A great problem solver!

Skilled Swimmer – Even before becoming a fish, Fly was pretty good at swimming. But after his experiences, he’s gotten even better!

Skilled Fisher – Fly loved fishing and has spent a lot of time doing it. He even knows how to make his own lures! I also assume he’s good at untangling knots, relining fishing poles, etc. He has a steady hand.

An Optimist – Unless he’s dying or some other shit got real, Fly’s bravery and confidence are made of steel.

Pain Tolerance – It’s not the strongest, but after what he’s been through and what he did while he was injured, he handles pain pretty well for a kid.

Great sense of justice – If Fly knows, or even THINKS, you’re evil he will disregard almost everything you say. He will never give in to evil. He’s watched enough Star Wars and Saturday morning cartoons to calls ‘em as he sees ‘em.

Responsible big brother – Fly is probably one of the best brothers out there. He is very good, protective, and patient with his little sister Stella. That being said, he’s good with younger kids and will look out for them. He will do his best to bring them some kind of hope, even if they’re in trouble.

Athletic – This kid is flexible, strong, a fast runner, and rides skateboards with ease. He also has a pretty powerful swing thanks to baseball, hockey, and tennis practice.

Fish Potion – He knows how to make Fish Potion and its antidote. But who knows if it works in the Houses, let alone have a reason to make it. The ingredients aren't nearly as readily available, either (Esca from an Anglerfish, the whiskers of a Codfish, ink from an Octopus, the tentacles of sea anemone, and the eggs of any fish [to make the antidote, add ground-up kelp]).

Manipulative – Fly is good at getting people to do what he wants through being a nuisance or threatening to do something they don’t want him to do.

Fish Knowledge – He’s no marine biologist but he does know a thing or two about fish and other aquatic life.

Treasure Hunter – Likes to look for cool and useful stuff.

Trivia – Fly knows a lot about western comics, games, shows, and movies! He’s a 90s kid after all. He might even recognize some of the characters walking around the house!

Sensitivity/Magical Ability:

He’s just a kid, so no.

However, for some unknown reason, Fly’s hat survives everything and manages to stay on his head no matter what (even if he transforms). The only way it tends to come off is if Fly removes it himself or someone snatches it off of his head on purpose. The hat will not slip off on its own.

Supply List:

The cap and clothes he wore at the beginning of the movie are all he’s got:

1 Brown Baseball Cap
1 Brown Jacket
1 Orange Sweatshirt (with hood)
1 Pair of White Boxers
1 Pair of Jeans
1 Pair of Orange Socks
1 Pair of Sneakers

Game Transfers: N/A

Sample RP post:

“Ugghhh…” a small groan echoed within the tiny Broom Closet.

On the floor, belly-up, laid a young boy who looked rather… Damp. He was soaked to the bone, his clothes heavy with salt water. Slowly stirring within some water that pooled under him, his eyes flickered open.

“Aach…” he spit up sea water, sticking out his tongue, repulsed by a fishy taste that lingered in his mouth.

Bending his arms back, he carefully tried sitting up, only to find out that the weight of the water in his clothes wasn’t the only thing holding him back. Aching pains surged from his chest and leg, forcing him to lie back down with a thump. He took a second to rest before letting out a tired sigh.

Ok, let’s try this again.

Now more prepared, he pushed his torso upward, shutting his eyes tightly till he was sitting up. He leaned forward a bit as pain still pulsed through him, wrapping his arms around himself to ease the twinge on his left side.

Once it subsided, the pre-teen looked at this new environment, squinting at the darkness surrounding him. His brain was still waking up but, soon, things started coming back to him.

… Was he still a fish?

With that sudden thought, Fly quickly looked over himself. Much to his delight, he was human again! And not dead! That fishy taste must have been from the Anti-Fish Potion! Taking a moment to examine one of his hands in surprise, a smile appeared on his face. Well what do you know! Chuck’s plan worked! Man, where is he? He had to thank him!

The youngster looked around once more, only to find that he was alone. Frowning, Fly wondered where he had wound up now. A chill ran down his body as he realized just how cold it was in here. That’s strange… It’s summer!

“What happened…?” he whispered, looking down in thought. It took a few moments but his memories soon returned.

He remembered… Stella! And Chuck! They had turned human right before his eyes as they were swept away by a sudden current in the Professor’s home! However, Fly was still a fish at the time… Then he remembered hitting his face against something hard. After that, nothing. Was he still in the lab?

It looked like there was a door ahead of him. Maybe he somehow slipped into the closet after all that water flushed out? But he didn’t hear anything. You’d think he’d hear Chuck and Stella calling his name. Were they ok?

Using the wall next to him for support, Fly got onto his feet, one arm still wrapped around his upper torso. Limping to the door ahead, he put his hand on the knob and opened the door.

Expecting to see the lab, you can imagine how shocked Fly was to see a long hall occupied by doors. And to make matters worse, everything was covered in snow and ice. He stepped out as snow crunched under his sneaker, unable to believe what he was seeing. He would have assumed this was some kind of dream but everything felt too real to be a dream.

“Chuck? Stella?” he called, steam rising from his warm breath. Instead of hearing the calls of his family, a gust of cold wind blew right through the poor boy. Shivering, he hugged himself again to retain whatever body heat he had left. He could feel the salty water he was soaked in already begin to frost over.

What should he do now? Something was very wrong here. There was no way he was anywhere near home… But how on Earth did he wind up here?! Were his cousin and sister here too?

He should find someone. Maybe they’d be able to tell him how he got here and send him on his way home…
